Alex McMillan serves as the Interim Director of Policy for the BC Chamber of Commerce and is Principle of his own communications consultancy McMillan Solutions. Alex draws insights from over 20 years of diverse experience in government, politics, and the private sector in British Columbia. He began his career as a senior political staffer and later as a civil servant, working in a half dozen different ministries over 11 years in Victoria. Prior to starting his own company in 2020, he refined his public affairs skills at the largest public relations consulting firm in Canada and by working directly for an integrated forestry company in Vancouver. He and his wife have two teenage daughters and Alex spends as much time on his bicycle as weather, work and family commitments will allow.
