Kaslo & Area Chamber of Commerce

Kaslo Sourdough has been producing sourdough products in Kaslo since 1993, growing from a local bakery into a business whose products are now shipped across Canada, the United States and Europe, while remaining firmly rooted in the community where it began.

Today, Kaslo Sourdough employs 13 people locally and is committed to living wages, meaningful year-round employment and sourcing 100% Canadian ingredients. Innovation has been central to its growth, particularly through its naturally fermented sourdough pasta, which has earned recognition from organizations including BC Food & Beverage, Veg Expo and From the Ground Up Expo.

The company has demonstrated remarkable resilience through challenges including COVID-19 and changing Canada–U.S. trade conditions, continuing to adapt, innovate and grow from its rural B.C. home.

Kaslo Sourdough is equally committed to giving back. The business supports local organizations, fundraisers and community initiatives, including the Kaslo Food Hub, Kaslo Arena, Library, Langham and local sports teams. It also finds creative ways to bring the community together through events and celebrations.

With its products reaching customers around the world, Kaslo Sourdough is also helping put Kaslo on the map. Its success demonstrates that a small-town business can grow its reach, create local employment and innovate while staying deeply connected to, and invested in, the community where it all began.
