David is currently an Owner & Managing Director of Pemberton Valley Lodge with over 30 years of experience in the tourism industry. He has opened four hotel properties in western Canada and operated his own Adventure Travel business for 10 years. 

David was elected to Municipal Council for the Village of Pemberton in 2005, serving a three-year term which also included Acting Mayor. He has previously served as a Director of the BC Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Canadian Cancer Society, Chair, Vancouver Coast & Mountains Tourism Region, Director of the Tourism Industry Association of BC, and Founder & Chair of Tourism Pemberton. 

David also served as the 50th President & Chair of the BC Hotel Association and currently is serving as a Treasurer. He is also currently serving as Vice Chair on the Board of go2HR. In his spare time, he is the SAR Manager for Pemberton District Search & Rescue and an Auxiliary RCMP Constable with the Sea to Sky Regional Police Service
