Melanie supports GreenStep Solutions’ utility, business, government, and non-profit clients to implement energy, water, and waste conservation measures that save money, reduce inefficiency, and cut carbon. She has been working on FortisBC’s energy assessments in the Okanagan, Kootenays, Lower Mainland, and Vancouver Island since early 2021 and has done over 350 energy assessments to date.

Melanie earned her Bachelor of Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia and her Master of Resource Management from Simon Fraser University. She has worked in various positions in solid waste management and water conservation/quality for UBC, SFU, three municipalities and Recycle BC. Her specialization is recycling and compost diversion and contamination, although she has now branched out into the energy conservation sector.
